A Record of Words and Ideas
I do...
- games
- interaction design
- experience design
After earning my Ph.D. from the Digital Media program at the Georgia Institute of Technology, I joined the Game Design faculty of DePaul University's School of Design. In addition to my speciality of level design, I taught introductory game design and programming. During my time at DePaul, I helped to overhaul classes in the undergraduate classes to bolster the design capacities of our students and aided in establishing and teaching in the Masters of Fine of Art degree.
I accepted a position as an Assistant Professor of Game Design and Interactive Media at Texas Tech University in 2018. In the Department of Journalism & Creative Media, I worked with my collaborator Megan Condis to establish a certificate program in Game Design & Culture to teach analog and digital fundamentals to new game makers. I was also fortunate to spend three Maymesters alongside Jerod Foster and superb students adventuring across West Texas while teaching "Interactive Design in the Wild."
In 2024, after a decade of teaching, I decided to leave my position to try something new! What that is remains unknown. But I'm excited to see what else is out there.
